Spring Workdays are in Full Swing!

Workdays at the Hilltop Garden are now well under way. Volunteers have been gathering every Friday from 2-4pm to prepare this campus garden for it’s first growing season. Scroll through the pictures below to see what the volunteers have accomplished since mid-February!

Volunteers discussed what they wanted to learn while participating in the garden initiative this spring. They also brainstormed ideas for continued volunteer outreach.

Volunteers planted over 45 varieties of cool season crops in the greenhouse last month.

IU Campus Division helped out by tilling the garden in preparation for the addition of rock phosphate.

Volunteers spend a rainy workday washing and sanitizing tools that will be used later in the growing season.

Just a few weeks ago, volunteers transferred flats from the greenhouse into the cold frames to prepare them for planting.
