The Initiative

Welcome to the IU Campus Garden Initiative Blog!

The average meal leaves an industrial farm and travels 1500 miles over 7 to 14 days before it reaches our plates. As fuel prices rise and climates change, the current food system becomes increasingly unsustainable. As members of a college campus community, it is our responsibility to address these issues.

To this end, the IUB Campus Garden Initiative, a project of the IU Office of Sustainability, fosters environmental and social sustainability by creating interactive, edible gardening spaces on the IU-Bloomington campus.

Is there a way to donate to the Bloomington campus specifying that it go to the Garden Initiative? I have not made a donation in a while and would like to support this. (Attended the Garden Party at Green Acres Neighborhood Garden today.)
